Will be taking a plane across the Pacific tomorrow bound for Japan. To say I’m excited would be an understatement. Since I’ll probably be a little distracted in the land of the rising sun, I’ve queued up some nice images for you to moggle over while I’m away!  I’ve opened up comments so feel free to leave me feedback (no spam plzzzzz)  Back in 2 weeks ^.^  

This mecha girl is taking a break from her military duties. I’m not sure if that big gu is a part of her, or propped up against her seat. Looks like there’s a handgun clipped into the seat contraption.[Any help identifying artist or series would be appreciated!] 

GAGraphic puts out some really quality art - though I’ll admit I don’t know too much about them - are they a doujin circle, publisher, game company?  I found this site, but I don’t read Japanese! Regardless, this pic has flying dogs, a gun, a heli-bicycle and a catgirl - not to mention all the wonderful details sprinkled throughout. 

This plate and mail wearing warrior looks like she could take on big monsters - though I think there are just a few small gaps in her armor!  But hey, a girl’s gotta sacrifice function over form, right?  

I wouldn’t want to meet this bad girl on a dark night - she’d probably lop off your head and feed it to a demonic dog. Though when she’s at home with the girls, eating pocky and reading manga, the scythe doubles as a bottle opener for yummy carbonated drinks!  >.<

There is nothing better than spending the weekend hanging out with a bunch of friends, getting your game on while enjoying some yummy snacks and drinks. These four girls look like they’re having a bunch of fun. I think red-shirt girl is pwning meganeko girl quite easily. Wonder what game they might be playing?

This image stands out from the crowd by looking less clean and illustrative, and being more painterly and artsy. I love the outfit the girl is wearing, with cute accessories and glasses. She doesn’t seem to fit in the typical ‘meganeko’ mold, but that’d not a bad thing since she’s a real cutey. Great clouds and cigarette smoke, providing a deep atmosphere and mood. Unfortunately I can’t decipher the artist’s signature.

There’s something really moody about this image. The girl looks pretty unhappy, and the colors are muted and subdued. The design is the robot parts is very nice, in an almost steampunk style, with lots of detail. The scenery matches the character well. Artist unknown. 

It’s White Day 2008!  White Day is a Japanese tradition when boys reciprocate on the gift giving done by girls to boys on Valentine’s Day. I thought this image was really cute and appropriate for this day of romantic suspense - the girl looks uncertain about the relationship between them - almost as if the boy hasn’t given her a gift yet although she gave him chocolates on Valentine’s Day. I like to think that he is riding her somewhere cute to present her a gift and a date! ^.^
