Haruhi, Yuki and Mikuru are always dressed up in some sort of outlandish costumes to satisfy Haruhi’s maniacal whims. Here we see them in less crazy, and more beautiful outfits - yukata. yukata is a less formal type of kimono worn for festivals (often in sumer) and is often made of cotton - while the traditional
kimono is usually made of silk and used for formal occasions. It is traditional that the younger a person is, the more bright and bold the patterns they should wear.
