Can’t express how happy I am that Obama won the election.

So far I’ve seen one episode of Casshern Sins, and it piqued my interest. I was a bit wary, since a friend had told me the movie Casshern is kind of bad, but I found the anime quite appealing. The art is retro-cool, the environment mysterious and barren, and most of all, the characters grab your attention - especially the little girl who seems so innocent constrasted to Casshern, who seems unable to stop himself from being destructive. Will have to watch more to see how the series holds up. At the very least it has the rad character design going for it. Yum.

Upset girls are often also moe girls. That makes this art by Rococoworks moe to the power of 3.

Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora is a tale of a sweet girl from the countryside who has to go to Tokyo to train as a mage. The story moves along at a bit of a slow pace, but it serves to create a real depth of character, and a nice understanding of a world where mages train at an academy and perform magic for clients at their request. The characters are all very real and somewhat flawed as we all are. The background artwork for this show is almost photo-realistic and might take a bit of getting used to, but I really like it (mainly because it reminds me of my trip to Japan!)

Having recently adopted a cat, I’m always on the lookout for cute neko pics. This one fits the bill, with the bonus of a bookworm meganeko on top. By Ukke.

 Strike witches is a bit too loli-fanservice for my tastes, but the character designs are still quite nice. And since I liked the mecha-musume figures that were out a while back, this series caught my eye. Here is Erica Hartmann looking very happy.
