FLCL (pronounce Furikuri) is an excellent anime from Gainax (who brought you Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gurren Lagann etc etc) With only 6 episodes, it’s a short but intense series full of fun action sequences, interesting characters, excellent music from the Pillows, and yes, Giant Robots. Canti is a robot that emerges from Naota’s forehead, after he is hit in the noggin with a guitar by a scooter-riding alien girl. Kept company by his sullen pseudo-girlfiend Samejima Mamimi, they are drawn into an adventure against the evil forces that occupy the monolithic iron-shaped building - Medical Mechanica. Check out
